Several investments made across the country by Commerce, Agriculture, and Transportation Departments.
The Department of Commerce announced on Friday the multi-departmental effort to address the bottlenecked supply chain across the country in the aftermath of pandemic mitigation efforts.
The Department of Commerce is currently advocating for returning semiconductor production to the United States as opposed to relying on overseas shipments.
The Department of Transportation has been working with the Port of Los Angeles to reduce shipment congestion on arrival. “We’ve got all hands on deck from the Administration.” said the Port’s Executive Director Gene Seroka.
The Department of Agriculture is also investing $3 billion in federal assistance across its jurisdiction. “The coronavirus pandemic has impacted every stage of our food supply chain, from commodity production through processing and delivery,” Secretary Vilsack said in a statement.
